Inside the Porthole:
- 175g frozen blueberries
- 40g sugar
- zest of 1 lemon, white pith removed
- a sprig of fresh mint, leaves washed
- 2 celery tops
Liquid to be Added:
- 3 oz (90 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice, strained
- 4 oz (120 ml) vodka, gin, bourbon, or your favorite spirit
To Assemble and Serve:
Arrange the infusion ingredients inside the Porthole. Close the Porthole, tighten screw, and check the seal for good contact on both sides.
Next, combine the liquid ingredients and transfer this mixture into the assembled Porthole through the spout.
This cocktail is best when infused at least 2 hours. Enjoy with sparkling water and/or ice.
Tips:
- You can refrigerate the porthole as it infuses to cool the cocktail.
- This infusion can be served simply over ice, or topped with chilled sparkling or tonic water for some extra snazz.
- Experiment to make this your own! White rum could be a nice substitute, or tequila/mezcal.
